Planet Earth revolves round itself .Is there any friction ?likewise can we avoid friction in generator too?

I mean if we make an armature rotate forever out of its own rotational inertia in space/vacuum ,can we avoid friction & generate electricity forever ?if no why ?See earth rotates but no friction .right ?
