Lg vu cell phone help?

ive had my lg vu for almost a year and it had a normal battery life. now its turning off because of its "battery life" after sending 2 txts im gonna go to the at&t store to see whats up but i want to know if theyll give me a new phone or not? if they do which at&t phone should i get for a 14 year old
